The Thammasat University Library welcomes donations of books, journals, and other information resources and research material that complement and extend its collections. It is very grateful to those who have helped to strengthen its holdings in the past through their generous gifts.

These donations may be distributed to help researchers at branch libraries such as the Pridi Banomyong Library; Puey Ungphakorn Library, Rangsit campus; and the Boonchoo Treethong Library. In addition, information resources in electronic form may be distributed through the TU Digital Collections electronic information resources service. Once a donation has been accepted, it is important that the Library is able to process and catalogue the material so that it can be incorporated into our collections and made available to readers. Due to limitations on staff resources and space, the Library must be selective in accepting donations of books and other material.

CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE

Donated books should be in good condition, undamaged, with no broken spines, loose pages, mold or mildew, or handwritten annotations that would impose substantial conservation costs (exceptions may be made for rare or unique material).

Information resources accepted by the Library include:

• Books (general titles, academic studies, fiction, young adult literature, rare books, and cremation volumes)
• Serials (academic journals, magazines, documents, and reports)
• Printed research.

HOW TO DONATE

1. in person by contacting a branch library during office hours.

If you wish an acceptance letter or other acknowledgement, please provide return address and donor information, please fill out the Donation form and be sure to include it with the mailed book donation.

POLICIES AND OPERATIONS

Donations are accepted on the understanding that they become the property of Thammasat University Library on receipt and that the Library may make all necessary decisions as to their retention, local cataloguing, access and use. Unwanted or duplicate items may be disposed of ethically in line with Library policy. Due to space and other constraints we are unable to guarantee that donated items will be kept together or added to a particular part of the Library’s collections. Donated books may be imported to branch libraries to provide service, evaluated for contribution to other libraries, agencies, or individuals for educational purposes, or used in other ways to benefit the Library.
